Books I Love! Linking Up

Mr. Greg at Smedley's Smorgasbord Of Kindergarten is hosting a book link.
Books?! I'm in!
Every day in my classroom, there seems to be one book that earns a round of applause.
Last week, Penguin and Pinecone received major love!

I'm looking forward to sharing Exclamation Mark with my kindergartners.  !

Isabella: Star Of The Story is a beautifully illustrated book, filled with picture clues.
Isabella's imagination helps her to make connections to the books she loves.
There are more books starring Isabella!

Looking ahead to Valentine's Day, Henry In Love is a super sweet book to share!

"I Can" Learning Posters for Centers (freebie)

When I posted my thoughts regarding
the need for play in the kindergarten classroom,
I also reached out to my PLN on Twitter.
As always, they jumped in with amazing ideas and support!
(Follow me on Twitter and meet my friends!)

That discussion thread led to the creation of a few "I Can..." posters for learning centers.
I chose to start with the top three choices in my classroom:  blocks, Legos, and the writing table.
I'll be adding more to this pack...:-)

2014 #OneWord365

Click for the free button template!
You can customize the button with your own word.

(If you'd like a copy of this pdf, let me know!)
This is going in my lesson plan binder,
where only I can see it.

When the squabbling starts
not irritable
When the line is still talking
When pointing out a mistake is tempting
rejoices in truth
When we make brave choices
When I want to complain about my class
believes in others
When I don't see obvious growth
expects the best
When we embark on new learning
When no one is in his/her corner...

I think I'm ready to introduce my students to 2014.
Happy New Year!
