This has been a blue Monday.
No reason. Just is.
I may be filling too much time
with Twitter, Instagram, Blogs, etc.,
allowing the comparison monster to
creep in.
Am the only K teacher in the blogosphere
NOT going to Vegas next week?
If you're going to be home, too,
let's have a blog party!
I'll work on that idea :-).
Our fist day for the 2014-2015 school year
is August 4.
I've been sorting, prepping, and
planning in little bits here and there.
Although I'm fairly sure I'll be in the
same room, at the same school,
in the same grade,
nothing is certain until I walk in on 8/4.
Nerve-wracking, right?!!!
July 4 ***** Happy Birthday, USA!
Since half of our children became drivers,
hubby and I tend to stay home to
keep tabs on everyone's whereabouts.
In a very non-stalky way. ;-)
Happy July, everyone!
I'm not going to Vegas either! I wanted to so badly but just couldn't justify the cost. It definitely is depressing right now reading about how excited everyone is! Comparison is such a joy-sucker! I love your blog though--I feel like I'm in a storybook! :) Have a great 4th! I'm sure your kids will make good choices! :)

You "got" the theme of my blog! :-D
DeleteI'm going to work on a Linky for next week, for those of us on a 'staycation'!
You must go back when I go back to school on August 4th.

Enjoy the next four weeks!
DeleteThe comparison monster, totally! I had to turn all of mine off for a bit because it's summer and we're suppose to relax, right! I think that's why this summer doesn't feel like summer. I've been so busy seeing what everyone else is up to and then feeling the need to create. Hang in there and good for you!
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you! I'll have regrets when the onslaught of back-to-school hits if I don't refuel now.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
My principal just would not buy into a conference in Vegas! :) You go back so early-that just doesn't seem fair! Social media inspired depression-LOVE that term!
ReplyDeleteNot Just Child's Play
Our last day was June 2, so we do have nearly 9 weeks of break.
DeleteI'm trying to focus on what really needs to be done- reorganize my files and the boxes that are piled in the spare room- and not get caught up in the extras.
It's ok to read and sleep and binge watch Netflix and drink a glass of wine or two, right?! Thanks for stopping by, I'm always inspired by you!
Red, White, and BLUE ... it's that time of year. If it makes you feel any better, I always leave your blog with a song in my <3 and a spring in my step. Oh, and I am NOT going to Vegas either ... but a copy of my book is ... lol. Hey, I know, email me your postal address and I'll send you a signed copy ... that ought to chase the July blues away!!!

Thank you! Your book is on my reading list!!
DeleteAnd, your sweet words just made my day :-)
Somehow, I always come back to the heart of teaching
when I'm writing.
Hi Chrissy, I just found you thru Twitter. I don't think I've ever been here before which is rather shocking given all the time I'm in blog land... speaking of which, I am with you in your current feelings on blogging. So much to do, so much to see and learn, but I feel like summer is trickling away. Stupid really.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what theme you were going to give your linky, but if I can be so bold as to suggest a topic, I would love to hear how other bloggers balance their time in the summer. I'm starting to think I am a true work aholic and it isn't healthy. Yikes! I am visiting in CO and Seattle this week, but even if I can't link up, I'd love to hear what others do. I'm pretty new at this and better to learn sooner rather than later.
Oh, and I do a linky on my blog called Funny Kid Fridays. If you need a laugh, there's a couple stories on Friday and in the archives worth a chuckle. And I'm posting a funny grown-up book link with Deanna on Tuesday, too. Gotta fight this glum feeling somehow... it's SUMMER for heaven's sake :)
I'm your newest follower– nice to meet you!
