Tears Will Fall When He Graduates

One month from today, my oldest child will
graduate from high school.
Where did the time go?!
I've been dreaming that I tell someone,
"Just strap a kleenex box to me."

I am seriously going to miss this smile! Admittedly, I don't see it often; we wake and sleep on different schedules, BigBro's job keeps him busy, his social obligations are enviable.  He has WAY more fun than his mom and dad!
To protect the privacy of his gorgeous date, I opted not to post their pre-prom pic.  This photo shows BigBro and his pal, a soon-to-be-famous-college-baseball-star.  So, yes, you can say you saw him here!

Do you have any advice for me?  I am a mommy who is about to say "Go forth!" to her firstborn son!  On top of that, I am the teacher who cries for two days after school ends!  No wonder I am dreaming about kleenex.  :-)

  2. I sooooo understand where you are coming from! My daughter graduated 2 years ago and I still can not believe that she has grown so quickly into the brilliant and beautiful young woman that I see before me. My only advice is to stay strong and cherish the fact that you have given him wings and he now must fly.....I will be doing this all over again in two more years with my son....I have started stocking up on Kleenex already...Good luck!

  3. My oldest child who is also a boy graduates in 10 days! My advice is to believe in him and be proud of what he has accomplished. I think mine has turned out pretty good although I can still get mad at him at times. I am very proud of the fact that he always serves his church very willingly and helps out friends when they need it. I am still not sure how he will make it out of bed in order to get to college class on time! Faith & trust!
